Why this vinyl can take life on the road

We've been printing for customers who take their designs outdoors for over 20 years. These are the four technical reasons your motorhome vinyl lasts as long as it does.

Roland Eco-SOL MAX ink

Manufacturer claim: 3 years outdoors unlaminated. We add UV varnish on top and push that to 4-5 years under direct sun.

UV-protective varnish

An extra transparent layer that shields the ink from UV rays, automatic wash brushes and the micro-scratches from road dust.

Adhesive built for your motorhome

Calendered monomeric vinyl with strong initial grip but removable when heated. It hugs the soft curves of side panels, hood and rear door without lifting through temperature swings.

We print every vinyl in Huesca

From order to production in under 24 hours. Banner Imagen's own team prints it, we don't outsource. If anything goes wrong, we know exactly where and why.

Put your motorhome's name, your coordinates or a road quote on it

Has your motorhome got a name? Want to wear your favourite coordinates on the rear door? Pick the typography and colour, and we print it to your exact size.

Where can you stick it?

Surfaces that work on your motorhome

  • Smooth side panels (fibreglass, ABS, GRP)
  • Rear door, hood and metal wings
  • Smooth aluminium and polished gel coat
  • Exterior doors and lockers with intact paint
  • Windows and skylights with no inside condensation
  • ABS plastic on spoilers, fins and rigid trim

Surfaces to avoid

  • EPDM door and rear hatch seals (they move when closing)
  • Awnings, roll-out canopies and outdoor fabrics
  • Rusted, peeling or cracked paint surfaces
  • Areas with fresh wax or recent water-repellent treatment
  • Flexible acrylic that bends in the wind (some deflectors)

If your surface has rust or loose paint, sand and prime before applying the vinyl. On wax or aggressive treatments, wait 30 days or degrease with isopropyl alcohol.

What's in your order?

This is what arrives at your home with the sticker, every detail taken care of. Application is easy with the included transfer film — you'll need a few basic tools you probably already have at home.

4
Free

Practice decals

Small extra decals so you can practise the technique before the final one. In case you have any doubts.

5

Printed instructions

Step-by-step guide in your language.

6

Exclusive packaging

Designed by TeleAdhesivo, not generic. For larger decals, rigid cardboard tube with original plastic caps that protect the vinyl during transport.

You'll also need

These tools are not included. You probably have some at home. The squeegee is the most important: without it, bubbles are almost guaranteed. If you don't have one, you can add it when finalising your order.

Squeegee

Smooths the decal and prevents bubbles.

Masking tape

Holds the decal in place before sticking it.

Cutter knife

For fine cuts during application.

Practise first with the test decals. It's easier than it looks.

How to install

The technique varies depending on the size of your decal. Choose the case that matches your order.

  1. 1
Position the decal and hold it with masking tape on the surface.
  2. 2
Peel the decal off the white paper. If any part stays on the paper, rub with the squeegee until it transfers to the transparent film.
  3. 3
Press with the squeegee from the centre outwards. Avoid bubbles.
  4. 4
Rub the entire surface well with the squeegee so the decal sticks.
  5. 5
Remove the transparent film slowly. Check that no element has stayed stuck to it.
  6. 6
    Done. Enjoy it!

  1. 1
Position the decal and tape it with masking tape. Place a horizontal strip in the centre that will act as a hinge.
  2. 2
Remove the top tape and peel off the silicone backing of the upper half carefully.
  3. 3
Cut the white backing across the centre. This way you can apply the upper half while the lower one stays protected.
  4. 4
Press with the squeegee from the centre to the edges on the upper half.
  5. 5
Remove the remaining white backing from the lower half.
  6. 6
Press with the squeegee from the centre to the edges on the lower half.
  7. 7
Remove the transparent film at 180°, not perpendicular. Slowly.
  8. 8
    Done. Enjoy it!

Before you start

  • Apply indoors or in the shade. Motorhome paint above 30 °C triggers the adhesive and leaves bubbles you can't get out.
  • After applying, let it cure for 48 hours under cover before hitting the road, and 7 days before the first car wash.
  • When applying on a sharp curve (rear-door corner, bumper edge), warm gently with a hairdryer at 15 cm and shape slowly.
  • Wet application: if you're unsure about positioning, spray the surface with soapy water before removing the silicone backing. You'll have 60 seconds to slide and centre before it sets.

Cleaning, durability and removal

How to clean it

Lukewarm water, neutral car shampoo and a soft sponge or microfibre. Avoid solvents, industrial alcohol and aggressive polishes. Garden hose is fine; pressure washer only beyond 40 cm and never aimed directly at the vinyl edge.

How long it lasts

UV varnish gives you 4-5 years under continuous outdoor European sun (coast, mountain, motorway). In sheltered areas (panel under an awning, garage side) practically unlimited. If you go through a brush car wash every week, expect 2-3 years.

How to remove it

Heat with a hairdryer or low-power hot air at 15 cm. Pull off at a 45° angle, slow and steady. If any adhesive residue remains, citrus cleaner (natural degreaser type) and a soft cloth will lift it. Never use a metal scraper on the paint.

Frequently asked questions

What surfaces can it be applied to?
On smooth, clean and dry surfaces: smooth walls, glass, varnished furniture, tiles, well-painted metal and vehicle bodywork.
Does it work on textured walls?
Not recommended. The relief prevents uniform adhesion and reduces durability. If your wall has fine texture, test first on a small area.
How long should I wait after painting the wall?
At least 2 weeks. Uncured paint can come off when removing the decal.
Does it damage the wall when removed?
Under normal conditions on cured paint, it usually comes off without damage by applying gentle heat and peeling slowly. On recent or low-quality paint it may lift the paint.
Can it be cleaned?
Yes, with a soft cloth and water with neutral soap. Avoid solvents and aggressive glass cleaners.
What's included in the order?
Cut decal, transfer film, silicone backing, practice decals so you can practise first, and printed instructions. Squeegee, masking tape and cutter are not included — they are basic tools you probably have at home, and if not, you can add the squeegee to your order.
How long does delivery take?
5-7 days in UK and Ireland. 3-7 days in the rest of Europe depending on country. You'll receive an email with tracking when shipped.
Does it survive a brush car wash?
Yes, once cured (minimum 7 days after applying). The UV varnish protects against brushes, but bear in mind that a weekly aggressive brush wash will shorten the useful life from 4-5 years to 2-3 years. If you wash with a hose or a gentle jet beyond 40 cm, durability reaches its maximum.
Will it hold up at 130 km/h with rain and wind?
Yes. The adhesive was designed for vehicle exterior parts (tested on cars, motorbikes and motorhomes). The leading vinyl edge is the one most exposed to wind — that's why we recommend applying the narrowest side facing forward into the airflow. After 48 hours of curing indoors, you can hit the road without issue.
Does it affect the MOT or insurance?
Decorative vinyl doesn't affect the MOT as long as it doesn't cover the licence plate, headlights, mirrors or indicators. Your fully comprehensive insurance covers the bodywork, not the vinyl; if you need to repair a dent, peel off the vinyl in that area first (it's removable) or ask for an extra estimate. In most countries there's no requirement to notify aesthetic changes to your insurer as long as it isn't commercial advertising.
Can I apply it over the manufacturer's original lettering?
Yes, as long as that adhesive is in good condition (not lifting). The new vinyl sticks to your motorhome's surface just like paint. If the original lettering is cracked or peeling, remove it first and clean the area with isopropyl alcohol.
And when I sell the motorhome, will it come off without damaging the paint?
Yes, that's one of this vinyl's strong points. Warm the area with a hairdryer, peel off at a 45° angle slowly and, if any adhesive residue remains, citrus cleaner lifts it without attacking the paint. The surface ends up as it was, with the bonus that the vinyl area has been protected from the sun all that time.
